I was born in Baltimore, Maryland and began drawing and photographing at an early age. I spent my high school years exploring photography as a fine art, learning to not only use the medium as a means to record an event but also to tell a visual story. After graduation I moved to Providence, Rhode Island to attend the Rhode Island School of Design, where I received my BFA in photography, also studying graphic design and literature.
In my early twenties I became inspired by the novels of Jack Kerouac, the work of Ansel Adams, and the countless number of photographers whose work graced the pages of Arizona Highways magazine. I moved west and began my own exploration of the natural America and tried to find my place in it. I continue to explore and photograph in these places, and I'm sure that this will remain a constant for as long as I am alive.
I have also worked for photo studios and design houses in Baltimore, Phoenix, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles and also have created work for such clients as: The Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Abercrombie & Fitch, Guess, Levi's, Clinique, Oakley, Ocean Pacific, The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, The Los Angeles Lakers, and The San Diego Zoo.
